ATLANTA (AP) - U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss is expected to headline a
rally at the Georgia Capitol supporting the Fair Tax, a plan to abolish
the federal income tax.
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is running an ad in
Georgia slamming the Republican's support for the tax plan, which
would replace the income tax with a national sales tax. The ad says
that Chambliss would raise taxes by 23 percent "on nearly
everything you buy."
