CHAMBLEE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say one person is dead after a small plane crashed near Interstate 285 just north of Atlanta.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says
the Piper Saratoga PA-32 had just taken off from DeKalb Peachtree
Airport when it went down in a neighborhood about 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Bergen said the plane was en route to Coldwater, Mich. The flight
originated at Craig Airport in Jacksonville.
DeKalb County fire spokesman Capt. Eric Jackson says the plane
landed about 20 feet from the front door of a home. Jackson says
fire investigators do not believe anyone else was hurt in the
crash. Authorities are unsure how many people were aboard the
