LEESBURG, Ga. (AP) - An Albany city worker was charged with DUI while driving a city-owned vehicle.
42-year-old Robert Edward Jackson was arrested Sunday afternoon after authorities said Smith was swerving and ran a Lee County sheriff's deputy off the road.
Jackson, a housing authority employee, failed a sobriety test which revealed his blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit of point-oh-8.
He was suspended without pay pending the outcome of an investigation.
A housing authority official said Jackson, a mechanic, was allowed to use the vehicle because he was on weekend call to deal with emergencies.
