12-year-old Hit by Truck in Critical Condition

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) - Officials say a 12-year-old girl had just gotten off a school bus when she was struck by an armored truck that skidded through a Stone Mountain intersection.

Police haven't placed charges against the driver in the incident at Hugh Howell Road and Mountain West Trail early Wednesday morning.

They say the school bus was stopped with lights flashing, and was picking up Olivia Hayes to attend Tucker Middle School when the truck hit her.

She remains in critical condition at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, at Eggleston.

Police are investigating.
