Some Ga. Schools Close Ahead of Storm

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Two coastal Georgia counties are closing schools as Tropical Storm Fay is forecast to bring wind and heavy rains to south Georgia.

Schools were closed Thursday in Camden and McIntosh counties.

The entire 100-mile Georgia coast remains under a tropical storm warning as forecasters predict Fay will begin moving westward across north Florida.

Fay is expected to dump 3 to 6 inches of rain in south Georgia and whip the coast with strong winds. Emergency officials say some areas could see localized flooding and power outages.

The National Park Service has closed Cumberland Island to visitors until Saturday. And the Coast Guard closed the Port of Brunswick to incoming ships until the storm passes.
