2 Accused of Taking Information on Alzheimer's Patients

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Gwinnett County police say two people are accused of obtaining personal and medical information from six Alzheimer's patients at a Buford nursing home.

Investigators arrested 36-year-old Iniabel Ferrer, who worked at the nursing home, and obtained arrest warrants for 44-year-old Jose Luis Ciuro, also of Buford.

The investigation started when an informer said Ferrer and Ciuro asked her to use her computer skills to steal money from the victims' bank accounts. Police say they found documents containing information of the six elderly people at the nursing home.

Ferrer is charged with felony exploitation of a disabled adult and felony financial identity fraud.
