TIFTON, Ga. (AP) - A food service distribution company has announced it will close its plant in Tifton, cutting dozens of jobs.
According to Nashville, Tennessee-based COI, the move will eliminate 200 jobs.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July to reorganize debt.
Employees were informed about the phase-out on Friday and were told the plant will cease operations by mid-October.
A company executive said affected workers will be offered a severance package. The Tifton Chamber of Commerce said it would
help displaced employees find new jobs.
