25 Arrested During Waycross Roundup

WAYCROSS, Ga. (AP) -- Police arrested 25 people on drug and weapons charges during a roundup in Waycross and neighboring communities.

Police say the arrests early Tuesday resulted from an undercover operation that began in March. Waycross police Lt. Hilton Boyett says officers purchased prescription pills, marijuana and other illegal drugs.

Boyett says most of those arrested are charged with dealing in prescription drugs.

He says police seized nine vehicles, several firearms and some cash. He says no injuries were reported during the roundup.
