2012: Rise of the Boo Boo

Each day during the final full week of 2012, News 4 This Morning will be taking a look back at some of the light-hearted, quirky, and/or amusing stories and topics we covered multiple times during the past year. The above video (to be uploaded later) shows some of the reports and conversations about the topic covered.

In August, a young Georgia girl known for participating in pageants got her own reality show and strutted her way into pop culture throughout 2012.

Alana Thompson became well-known in the TLC reality show, Toddlers & Tiaras, which followed young beauty pageant participants and their relatives.

The young Georgian became known as “Honey Boo Boo” and later got her own spin-off show, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” also airing on TLC.

She’s known for several catchphrases such as “You better redneck-a-nize!” as well as her “go juice,” which is reported to contain a mix of Red Bull and Mountain Dew.

“Here Comes…” was recently renewed for specials and another season.
