N.Y. company recalls noodles due to unlisted peanuts
Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin is alerting consumers to the recall of a product due to incomplete labeling.
House of Spices in Flushing, N.Y., is recalling all 10-ounce packages of Garvi Gujarat brand Tam Tam (STAR NOODLES) because they may contain peanuts without listing them on the label. People who have an allergy to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The recalled noodles were sold nationwide in retail stores. They are packaged in 10-ounce flexible plastic bags marked with UPC # 7 23246 22347 6 on the back and no other coding.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered by the State of Connecticut through sampling and analysis that the product contains peanuts but the packaging did not reveal the presence of peanuts.
Consumers who have purchased the noodles are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
