The association is seeking an active peanut farmer who is interested in serving on the National Peanut Board. A nomination election for the new members will be held at the Alabama Florida Peanut Trade Show in February, a position which is vital to the industries development.
"They oversee about six to eight million dollars a year that is used in research but also research and development these kind of things,” commented Randy Griggs of the Alabama Peanut Producers Association
The association will nominate two members and two alternates who will go before the USDA who will choose one person from each category.
