After 22 years at the Coffee County Extension Office, Coordinator Stan Windham is handing over the keys.
Windham is taking a job as an Assistant Director of Programs for the Auburn University Extension System overseeing county coordinators across the state.
County commissioners told him Monday they hate to see him go but wished him a lot of luck in the promotion.
"They offered the job last week and I just felt like I ought to take it. I'm not looking to leave. This is the greatest county that I think you could ever work in,” says Windham.
Windham says farmers should continue to call the extension office as usual and a regional director will continue to serve Coffee County until a replacement can be hired.
