National Alpaca Farm Days will be held Saturday, September 25th and Sunday, Sept 26th . Five area alpaca farms are opening their farms to the public to come have fun and meet the alpacas.

Jerry Sanders will also be presenting a free Alpaca 101 Clinic to be held at Alabama Peanuts and Pacas, just off 231 south of Ozark on County Road 20 on Saturday, October 9th from 9:00am till 3:00pm. This clinic is for those who may be entertaining getting some alpacas as pets or for profit. Jerry will be covering all the basics of alpacas from breeding to birthing, to herd maintenance, such as giving shots and trimming toe nails to what to look for when purchasing your alpacas. He will also be covering fencing and shelter requirements plus special requirements for raising alpacas in the hot, humid south. The clinic is free but participants are asked to pay for their lunch and the handout materials. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
