The lockdown at the Washington County School system has ended according to the following statement from the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
"The lockdown has been lifted on all Washington County Schools. We appreciate your patience as we ensured the well being of those at our area schools. As always, the safety of our children is the highest priority of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office."
The Washington County Sheriff's Office has released an official statement on the lockdown.
"Due to some indirect threats being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, all schools in Washington County are currently on lockdown. There is an officer assigned to every school at this time. It is the policy of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to respond swiftly and aggressively to any threat made in reference to the safety of our residents. These measures are being taken proactively to ensure the safety of our area children."
We have word that all schools in the Washington County school system in Florida have been placed under a lockdown.
