CHIPLEY, FL -- The Washington County Emergency Management Agency is urging residents on several roads in Chipley to evacuate.
Heavy rain and rising water is causing problems in several areas of Washington County. Residents on Wages Pond Road, Little Wages Road, River Lake Drive and the unpaved portion of Deadening Road are being encouraged to leave their homes due to the possibility of being stranded by flooding.
A shelter is being opened at Sunny Hills Community Center located at 4083 Challenger Boulevard in Chipley. EMA officials remind residents to bring personal supplies, such as bedding, special needs food, important documents, personal hygiene items and medications.
