The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office today served warrants on a
Crestview man wanted on charges of sexual battery, lewd and lascivious molestation, child neglect, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

40-year old Mason Wesley Furniss of 4622 Canary Way in Crestview was recently located in Mississippi and today was brought to the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview.

OCSO Investigator Ralph Garrett says Furniss sexually molested a
teenage girl on various occasions between December 2012 and February 2013 at his home on Canary Way in Crestview, at the Quality Inn in Crestview, and at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort on Okaloosa Island.

During a controlled phone call with the victim, Furniss admitted to the
sexual acts with the teen and told her he planned to take her to Mississippi when she turned sixteen to marry her.

Investigator Garrett says anyone with additional information on Furniss is asked to contact the OCSO at 850-651-744 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS.
