Untreated Sewage Discharge in Panama City

PANAMA CITY, FL - A power outage at lift station number 41 located at 532 East 6th Street in Panama City resulted in approximately 750 gallons of untreated wastewater to flow into a storm drain which empties into Massalina Bayou.

Sewage contamination of water can expose bathers to intestinal viruses, bacteria, and parasites.

The Florida Department of Health in Bay County advises against swimming in Massalina Bayou between 6th Street and Beach Drive until further notice.

For more information, you may contact the Florida Department of Health in Bay County at (850) 872-4660 ext. 1268.
