A traffic stop resulted in the discovery of methamphetamines.

On Tuesday, Oct. 1, a Jackson County Sheriff’s Officer stopped a Gold Ford Ranger that had no tail light and no license plate near the intersection of I-10 and Highway 71. During the stop, William Dwayne Goodson voluntarily removed a small plastic container and a plastic baggie containing finished methamphetamines from his pocket and placed it on the hood of the patrol car.

During the stop, a K-9 indicated a positive alert for the presence of narcotics and revealed multiple chemicals used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines.

There were two other people in the car besides Goodson at the time of the traffic stop. Goodson took responsibility for all of the illegal substances found and was lodged in the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance. The other two occupants were released.
