LAND O'LAKES, Fla. (AP) -- A Tampa Bay area teen was arrested twice within several hours, the second time after authorities say he tried to break into a car in the jail parking lot.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office reports that 18-year-old Richard Owens was arrested and charged with trespassing Friday evening. He was released a short time later, and a deputy reported seeing him in the jail's parking lot at about 1 a.m. Saturday.

The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/NcEwNw ) reports that the deputy saw Owens peek in the window of a pickup truck and try to open the door of a locked Pontiac GTO. Owens told deputies the car belonged to a friend who was there to pick him up, but the car's actual owner was another deputy.

Owens was charged with auto burglary. He was being held on $5,000 bail.
