Chipley- Based on the results of a recent speed study, the Florida Department of Transportation will increase the speed limit on three sections of State Road (S.R.) 75/U.S. 231 in Jackson County. The posted speed limit will increase from 35 mph to 45 mph. Signs displaying the new speed limit will be erected by Wednesday, May 22.
The speed limit changes will occur at the following locations on U.S. 231:
• From north of Overpass Road to south of Dothan Street in Campbellton.
• From south of Stump Creek Bridge to north of 1st Avenue in Alford.
• From north of Obert Street to north of Dogwood Drive in Cottondale.
Maintenance activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the work zone.
