APOPKA, Fla. (AP) -- Defense officials say a 20-year-old soldier
from central Florida has died in Afghanistan.
The Department of Defense announced Wednesday that Pvt. Jalfred
D. Vaquerano of Apopka died Dec. 13 in Landstuhl, Germany.
Officials say he suffered injuries from enemy small-arms fire
while deployed in Logar province, Afghanistan.
According to a press release, Vaquerano was assigned to the 1st
Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st
Armored Division in Fort Bliss, Texas.
