Solar-Powered Trash Compactor

Solar-powered garbage cans are now located at the 8-public beach access points in coastal Walton county.
The state-of-the-art technology uses the power of the sun to compact trash.
Once the receptacle is full, it transmits a signal to sanitation personnel to empty it.
The south Walton county tourist development council has spearheaded the effort to go with "green" technology whenever possible.
The south Walton tourist development council has been approached by other agencies, about its use of solar and other "green energy" initiatives.
