Scott Makes his Case for a Second Term as Governor

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Gov. Rick Scott is pointing to Florida's improved economy as Republicans look past losses in November and ahead toward the next election.

Scott, who will seek his second term in 2014, told party activists Saturday that unemployment has dropped and the housing market has improved since he took office.

Scott said he has made the state more business friendly by lowering taxes and getting rid of regulations.

Party activists also re-elected Lenny Curry as the state GOP chairman.
