Hundreds of protestors crowded the Florida State Capitol steps Wednesday.

The rally, endorsed by Trayvon Martn's parents, called for increased pressure on Governor Scott and legislative leaders to do something about the state's Stand Your Ground law.

George Zimmerman is using that law as his defense in the shooting death of the 17-year-old in February.

Protestors say if not for Stand Your Ground, Zimmerman would be in jail. So they're calling for the law to be overhauled or eliminated completely.

The governor has appointed a task force to look at that possibility, but he won't allow it to meet until the Martin investigation is complete. That decision has been met with criticism.

"Now is not the time to slow down - now is the time for justice!" said Rep. Alan Williams, D-Tallahassee. "To Governor Scott, if you can hear me, we want justice in this case!"

Governor Scott says he agrees even if his timetable looks different.

"You don't know what's going to come out of [the investigation], but I just don't want this to ever happen again," he said.

The rally comes just one day after a south Florida democratic senator announced he's forming a task force of his own. That group is scheduled to meet Thursday in Fort Lauderdale.
