OCSO Seeking Witnesses in Destin Aggravated Battery Case

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is hoping to locate any witnesses to an aggravated battery that took place at a Destin nightspot in the early morning hours of July 7.

Justin Koch, 23, of Fort Walton Beach, told investigators he was going back and forth between the Red Door Saloon on Harbor Boulevard and Dockside between 10 p.m. and about 2 a.m. when he got into an argument inside the Red Door Saloon.

Koch left the establishment, but later returned and got into a physical altercation with the same individual outside the business.

A witness says that man punched Koch and knocked him out. Koch fell backward and hit his head on the concrete.

After, the alleged incident, the suspect walked away. Investigators believe there could be multiple witnesses to the incident and are asking anyone with information to please contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS.
