A Marianna woman is in the Jackson County Correctional Facility after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend.

Cynthia Pete is behind bars after police officers responded to the Marianna Garden Apartments to assist with a medical call.

Authorities say they were responding to help a man who was having difficulty breathing.

When they arrived, investigators say the patient was suffering from a stab to his back.

Authorities say Pete is responsible for the wound.

She's been charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm.
