A Marianna man has been taken into custody after he admitted to police that he had stolen scrap metal from a Main Street property.
A press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office states that on Sunday, May 12 Deputies responded to a Suncrest Road address after the department received information that stolen items were at the residence.
Deputies made contact with a resident who identified himself as Ian Andrew Hopper. Hopper informed the Deputies that on this date he had taken scrap metal from a property on Main Street without permission from the owner of the property. The stolen items were then located in the backyard of the residence. The stolen items were then identified and confirmed to be the items taken from the property on Main Street.
Hooper was taken into custody and charged with grand theft. He has been transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility until his first appearance.
