Man Killed by Train after Bike Stuck on Tracks

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- The Broward Sheriff's Office says a man was killed by a train after the tire of his bicycle got stuck on the railroad track.

Detectives believe the death of 45-year-old James Marine was accidental. Authorities are waiting for results from an autopsy and toxicology report.

The sheriff's office report says Marine tried to free his bike as the train approached Friday night in Pompano Beach.

The train conductor attempted to slow down the train, but as the train approached Marine was struck and killed.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue pronounced the man dead on the scene.

The investigation continues.

You know that there's a bicycle factory some where. There's No Way to replace you tho. He should have left the bike and got off the tracks. This is just poor judgement on his part.I hope he was drunk or something, because I'd hate to know that a clear headed person thought more of his bike than he did of his life.
