SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) -- A southwest Florida man faces a child abuse charge after authorities say he tied up a 4-year-old girl so he could play video games.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office reports that the girl told deputies Tuesday that she was watching television last week when 27-year-old Heath Howe tied her up with a rope and left her in the kitchen.
Authorities say the girl remained tied up until her mother and a friend returned from the gym. Deputies say the girl had marks on her arms from the rope.
The girl also told deputies Howe had tied her up on previous occasions.
Howe was arrested Wednesday. He was released Friday on $100,000 bail.
Jail records didn't list an attorney for Howe.
