PALM HARBOR, Fla. (AP) - A Tampa Bay-area man was charged with driving under the influence after authorities say he rear-ended a deputy.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office reports that 40-year-old Michael Patrick Scivally was driving behind the patrol car on U.S. 19 Thursday afternoon when he ran into it. The deputy sustained minor injuries, but Scivally was not hurt.
Deputies say Scivally failed a field sobriety test and had Oxycodone.
Scivally was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI with personal injury, DUI with property damage and felony possession of a controlled substance. He was later released on $3,500 bail.
