The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man early Tuesday morning following a call about a reckless driver on I-10.
According to a press release from the department, the call came in at approximately 7:20 a.m. and described a black Infinity driving westbound from the area of the 160 mile-marker.
A responding deputy followed the vehicle and observed the car swerving in and out of its lane. A traffic stop was performed and the police stated that driver, Justin D. Sweetman, 37, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, appeared to be under the influence of an unknown controlled substance.
A vehicle search was performed and the deputy located a pill bottle that contained numerous marked and unmarked pills. The deputy determined that the bottle contained 14 Hydrocodone pills that Sweetman did not have a prescription for.
Sweetman was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail. He has been charged with trafficking Hydrocodone.
