TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida officials are warning that there's a high risk of dangerous rip currents and wildfires across the state. Winds of 15 to 20 mph and large waves could create strong rip currents along Florida beaches from Volusia County through Miami-Dade County.
LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. (AP) -- A hostage situation between an armed man and two family members in southwest Florida has ended peacefully. Lee County Sheriff's hostage negotiators talked with the man inside while one of the women escaped through a back window. They eventually convinced him to release the other.
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- A man's body has been found in a pool of blood outside an Orlando chiropractic clinic.
Orlando Police said residents of a drug treatment center found the man in the parking lot Saturday morning. Authorities said the victim had a head injury but didn't elaborate. The Orlando Sentinel reports the man had been dead for several hours.
The victim was not identified and authorities did not say whether they suspect foul play.
