CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- US Airways officials say a flight from Key West to Charlotte was diverted after a bird strike. It happened shortly after takeoff. The flight landed in Fort Myers, where another plane picked up the 70 passengers to continue the trip. No injuries were reported.
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A former police dog has died five days after being shot while protecting his owner's West Palm Beach home. Veterinarians euthanized Drake on Friday after determining that a bullet nicked the 5-year-old German shepherd's esophagus, making it difficult for him to eat and drink.
