Jackson Hospital Asks Local Community Members For Help

Florida budget legislators have proposed to send more than 11-million dollars to a Jackson County hospital. However that budget is far from guaranteed.

To make sure they get the cash, Jackson Hospital employees are asking for local residents to email Governor Rick Scott, asking for him to approve the budget. Funds will help renovate the hospital's operating suite and generator. Officials believe these funds will also create a huge economic impact for the community as well.

"These recent efforts are just another step towards achieving our mission which is to be the best community healthcare system in the nation," said Katharine Dozier, Jackson Hospital's Director of Marketing and Public Relations.

Florida's constitution provides Governor Scott the power to veto any specific appropriations within the proposed budget. A decision is expected to be made within the next few weeks.

The governor’s office can be contacted at http://www.flgov.com/contact-gov-scott/email-the-governor.
