Executive Director of the Jackson County, Florida Tourist Development Council (TDC) Pam Fuqua announced Wednesday that public relations and marketing firm The Goulding Agency, Inc. in Chipley, Florida has been contracted to improve awareness for tourism in Jackson County.
Paul Goulding has worked in the Public Relations, Marketing, Media and Tourism industries for over 30 years in Northwest Florida and operates The Goulding Agency, Inc., a full-service public relations, marketing and media production firm with offices and studios in Downtown Chipley.
The firm has become best known for the promotion of what they call ‘The Real Florida’- that area of northwest Florida roughly encompassing Jackson, Washington, Holmes, Bay and Calhoun counties. They have produced extensive video compilations and photo galleries from festivals, events and businesses, along with interviews with local residents, political figures and visitors, bringing awareness for the area.
‘Jackson County offers pristine natural resources and a quality of life hard to find elsewhere’, says Vice President Debbie Goulding. ‘It’s not a hard sell to get their message out to the community and with our firm’s experience in destination marketing we are a perfect fit for this partnership’.
Goulding and his staff have met with Fuqua and the Jackson County TDC board several times, hammering out a plan to enhance awareness and increase visitation for Jackson County.
Fuqua says, ‘It looks like January 2014 will bring in more visitors (to Jackson County) thanks to The Goulding Agency and their promotional expertise’.
Goulding promoted coastal tourism for the Bay County Tourist Development Council and consults with Chambers of Commerce, governmental agencies and businesses in Northwest Florida. He recently was awarded the Florida State ‘Media Promotion of the Year’ by the Adult and Community Educators of Florida (ACE) for outstanding support of adult and community education through publishing and broadcasting.
‘With the proximity of the “World’s Most Beautiful Beaches” to our south, we can get our message to people from Birmingham, Atlanta, Montgomery and the I-65, I-75 and I-10 corridors while they are vacationing just an hour south of us’, says Debbie Goulding. ‘We have made use of that strategy in the past and will continue to do so for Jackson County’.
The Goulding Agency publishes several print and online periodicals, including ‘Real Florida Magazine’ and ‘Jackson County Today!’ and produces several TV shows, including ‘Jackson County Today’, ‘Kids Hooked on the Outdoors’ and ‘Real Florida TV’.
‘Our existing print, broadcast and online products are a perfect match for this partnership with Jackson County’, says Goulding. ‘This is what we do every day, and this contractual agreement gives us focus for this educational effort on behalf of Jackson County’.
Under development by the firm is a results-based, tourism-directed television show, scheduled to air on Comcast Cable TV in Marianna as well as online. The program will feature natural resources, sports and events, agri-tourism and eco-tourism, amusements and other destination marketing elements, and is scheduled to air in Alabama and Georgia as well.
‘We have forged relationships with the Jackson County law enforcement community, including the departments of Jackson County Sheriff Lou Roberts and Marianna Police Chief Hayes Baggett’, says Goulding. ‘Programming content from this law enforcement viewpoint will be valuable and provide educational content to visitors and locals alike’.
‘This will be similar to programming with which we worked years ago when we operated a 24-hour cable advertising network in Panama City Beach’, says Goulding. ‘The effort is a long-format, advertorial-type product, versus a high-pressure traditional advertising tact, and it works’.
Work by The Goulding Agency, Inc. has been featured on HGTV, ESPN, the Outdoor Channel, The Weather Channel, the Discovery Channel, FOX News, as well as in national periodicals and print, and the firm can be found online at www.TheGouldingAgency.com.
