Are You Ready for a Haunted Hayride?

Bay County will hold its third annual Haunted Hayride on Oct. 26 and 27 at H.G. Harder’s Park, located at 8110 John Pitts Rd., Panama City.

The public is invited to attend what is certain to be a frightful, fun-filled, family-oriented event at a bargain price. Adult admission is $5, children 13 to seven years old may enter for $3 and children six and under enter at no charge. The fun begins at dusk and ticket sales end at 10 p.m. both nights. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Last year, some 5,000 visitors braved the county’s spooky setup, raising around $17,000 for charity.

The trail winds through about a mile of the park’s wooded walking track and features dozens of haunted sites along the way, manned by volunteer county employees and their families.

For the younger children – or the faint of heart – from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 visit the Pumpkin Patch, a free, fun alternative to trick or treating with games, candy and more. A costume contest will be held at 7 p.m. in the Pumpkin Patch, with prizes for both the cutest and scariest entrants in four age groups: two and under, ages three to five, six to eight and nine to 10 years old.

Please come out and enjoy this year’s Haunted Hay Ride and support a worthy cause. For more information, visit www.baycountyfl.gov.
