The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is working to track down a man who robbed a Fort Walton Beach business at gunpoint Thursday morning.

Employees at Bimbo Foods, 105 Lewis Street, say they were robbed of cash by a man who entered the business around six a.m., then drove off with one of the company’s white Dodge Caravans.

Deputies recovered the van about ten minutes later on Bob Sikes Boulevard.

They set up perimeters around the area to conduct a search. Additional school resource officers were also sent to nearby Pryor Middle School on Racetrack Road as a precautionary measure as students arrived for classes.

The robber is described as a slender black male, around 5’9” to 6”0 tall who was wearing khaki shorts and a faded long-sleeved red shirt. Witnesses believe he has a tattoo on one calf.

Anyone with information on the armed robbery is asked to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 - or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS where information that helps lead to an arrest could earn you a cash reward.
