Florida Students Taking Too Many Tests?

MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Gov. Rick Scott says he wants to take a look at changes in Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test, saying that testing is necessary but there might be too much of a good thing.

Scott told news editors from five Southern states on Friday that Florida received more parent complaints this year about testing in schools.

Between the FCAT, federal testing and end of course testing, Scott says there may be too much testing and has been talking with state education officials and school superintendents and teachers about making changes while still having reliable measurement systems.
