"Lovely, independent and you might say stubborn. She turned 107 years old today.” Randall Hinson said.
Randall Hinson is talking about his mother, Annie Mae Keith Hinson
She was born December 5th, 1906.
"I have wondered why in the world, god let me get to be 107. Well I'm there and I told my two sons and their children that I wanted to get to the date because if I die tonight I want to make sure I enjoyed my birthday," Miss Hinson said.
"She's very feisty and her mind is just as good as the day it was 20 years ago," Randall said.
She's never forgotten how to play the piano, despite never taking a piano lesson
"I just have a good memory and I didn't lose it," Miss Hinson said.
What gift did she want most for her special day?
"I've lived a long time and had a lot of gifts given to me, I don't need gifts I need respect and love from people. So that's what I'd rather have," Miss Hinson said.
When asked what her secret was to living so long?
"I don't know, I don't know I don't know," Miss Hinson said.
"If you asked me before I was 100 if I would have told you know, I didn't know what it was but I didn't want it," Miss Hinson said.
Hinson only recently moved into the nursing home and she was driving up until she was 96.
