TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- A Tallahassee group with close business ties is rolling out its annual list of recommended budget vetoes.

Florida TaxWatch on Thursday will announce a list of items that the research and advocacy group argues could be eliminated from a proposed $74.5 billion state budget.

Gov. Rick Scott has until May 24 to act on the budget and is unlikely to announce his decisions until next week.

Last year Florida TaxWatch came up with a list of nearly $150 million in projects that it said were added outside the normal budget process or that serve strictly local or private purposes.

Sen. Joe Negron, the Senate budget chief, has questioned the group's criteria. During the recent session he also publicly questioned Florida TaxWatch's credibility because of some of the organization's members.
