Florida News: Early Voting; Elementary Student Can Pass Out Easter Egg Invites

MIAMI (AP) -- All tropical storm watches and warnings have been canceled for Florida as Hurricane Sandy makes its way northward. A tropical storm warning remains in effect for much of the Carolinas' coast. The storm's center is now about 355 miles southeast of Charleston, S.C.

MIAMI (AP) -- Early voting has started in Florida, the biggest presidential swing state. Special polling places opened throughout the state Saturday and will be open daily for the next week. Poll times vary by county. Officials say more than 1.1 million Floridians have already cast ballots through mail-in absentee voting.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- A federal judge says an elementary school was wrong when it banned a fourth-grader from passing out invitations to a religious-themed Easter egg hunt. A federal judge ruled that the boy's First Amendment rights were violated when he passed out the invitations during free time.
