The Florida Department of Law Enforcement continues its investigation into a Washington County man shot and killed after pointing a rifle at deputies.
Washington County Sheriff's Deputies were called to Alligator Creek, around 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 11th.
After they received calls of a gunman walking along Highway 90 and Holmes County Line. Authorities approached the man. That's when he took off into the woods. The man ignored officers orders and lifted the gun. Thats when he was shot and killed. Now the man's family is speaking out.
"We want to let everybody to know he was a very gentle and sweet man. He was awsome..he would help anybody..he would give you the shirt off his back," says Sandra Freeman.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has taken over the investigation.
