WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL -- The rain has seemed endless for places like Washington County, FL.

Some roads in the county are not even accessible for vehicles.

Last week, Governor Rick Scott sent a request to President Obama to declare the Florida panhandle area a state of emergency.

County officials said if the declaration is signed, it will allow the area to receive some compensation for damages.

"That would mean that funds could come into our area to reimburse emergency work to repair roadways," said Public Safety Director Lynne Abel
