The nation's labor secretary is helping Florida with its broken unemployment benefits website.
The site is called "connect".
It's being blamed for interrupting payments to thousands of Floridians.
Labor secretary Thomas Perez says restoring payments to the jobless is a top priority.
He says a team of experts from Washington will work with state officials to fix the problem.
"People need this critical money. And we're hopeful that we can fix the problem. And one of the things that we're trying to do, for instance, in connection with people who have already been deemed eligible, and are having trouble continuing to receive their payments, is to make sure that we implement a 'pay first, figure it out later' system," said Perez.
Florida blames the web site's contractor for the problems.
