ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Police say a Tampa Bay-area was stabbed in the heart during brawl outside his home.
According to St. Petersburg Police, Jeriel Danford got into an argument with a woman outside his home late Friday and then began battering her.
The woman left but returned a short time later with family members.
Police say Danford was stabbed in the chest by an unknown person during a brawl that followed the woman's return.
The blade pierced Danford's heart. Police say Danford was hospitalized Saturday in critical but stable condition.
Police say they have not yet identified a suspect in the stabbing.
