Fla. Governor Signs Jobs Bills

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Shoppers will get a three-day sales tax holiday and businesses will get a break on unemployment taxes under bills signed into law by Florida Gov. Rick Scott.

Scott on Wednesday acted on several bills that were part of his "jobs agenda" for this year.

One bill reduces the number of businesses that have to pay the state's corporate income tax. Scott also signed a bill that will scale back the size of an unemployment tax increase due this year from nearly 460,000 businesses.

The tax cut bill signed by Scott also calls for a back-to-school sales tax holiday in August.

Scott also signed a measure that gives him more control over regional workforce boards that control money for job training.
