MIAMI (AP) -- Miami-Dade County government is going pink next month in an effort to raise awareness of breast cancer.

A Miami-Dade Police Department vehicle, waste management garbage truck, and a Metrobus have all been painted pink. And the Stephen P. Clark Center Lobby will also be pink throughout the month of October.

Jackson Memorial Hospital will unveil its new Mobile Mammogram Unit. The mobile unit will offer mammograms for county employees every Thursday in October.

St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster will announce the city's first Paddles Up St. Pete festival on Sunday. The October festival will feature dragon boat racing from teams across the state. The mayor will be escorted by the Pink Dragon Ladies, a breast cancer survivor dragon boat team.
