WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say a man in a wheelchair has been killed after he was struck by a car in southwest Florida.
Winter Haven Police said 58-year-old Robert Turner was crossing the street Saturday night but did not use a designated crosswalk. Turner was struck by a Honda Civic and thrown from his electric wheelchair.
Police spokesperson Jamie Brown said the driver did not appear to be speeding or impaired. The investigation continues.
