The Bay County Sheriff’s Office participated in the recent Florida Sheriff’s Task Force initiative to remove felons from Florida’s streets. Operation Felon Sweep focused on removing violent felons, felons with outstanding warrants, and sexual offenders and predators from our communities. The statewide sweep ran from September 28 through October 22, 2012 and resulted in 11,875 felony arrests.
During the sweep, the BCSO made 228 felony arrests, including the arrests of Calvin Grubbs, DOB 4/17/89, Jabarus Pittman, DOB 12/8/95, and Ricardo Manning, DOB 1/18/94. The three were suspects wanted in connection to a Panama City Police Department homicide case.
Also taken off the streets during the sweep was Michael Ramsey, DOB 11/23/72, wanted in connection to several Armed Robberies on Panama City Beach and one in Springfield just minutes before he was located and arrested.
During the sweep, the Special Investigations Division arrested Michael Day Neely, DOB 6-14-51, as he attempted to bring one pound of ICE into Bay County from Atlanta, Georgia. Also arrested in connection to this bust was Patrick Angelo Nobrega, DOB 6/29/61. Two pounds of marijuana were also confiscated during the FSA Operation Felon Sweep.
The BCSO also conducted 299 Sexual Offender and Predator checks during the sweep.
