The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public information meeting regarding the replacement of the Scott Road Bridge over Parrot Creek and the Jessie O. Lewis Road Bridge over Boggy Branch in Holmes County. The meeting will be held Thursday, June 7, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the New Hope Volunteer Fire Department, 1243 Highway 179A, Westville. This meeting will allow citizens an opportunity to preview the proposed design, ask questions, and/or submit comments concerning the upcoming project.
Construction of Scott Road Bridge over Parrot Creek is currently funded in 2014. Proposed improvements include replacing the structurally deficient wooden bridge over Parrot Creek with a concrete box culvert and paving the approaches. The roadway will be paved on each side of the culvert and widened to accommodate 10-foot lanes and 2-foot shoulders. The project is approximately 525 feet in length.
Construction is currently funded in 2014 for Jessie O. Lewis Road Bridge over Boggy Branch. Proposed improvements include replacing the structurally deficient wooden bridge over Boggy Branch with a single span concrete bridge and paving of the approaches. The roadway will be paved on each side of the bridge and widened to accommodate 10-foot lanes and 2-foot shoulders. The project is approximately 460 feet in length.
